Library cryptid disguised as a Director. historian, textile artist, craft dabbler. Go read a book - you really need to do so. Read a lot of books - learn something outside of your confirmation bias. The crows demand it. And go outside.

It's a warm enough day that I can sit here with the windows open, but the smell of Fall is starting to be in the air, and the neighbors have been having bonfires regularly.

There is just something about the smell of a bonfire that screams Fall, isn't there?

While the White Nationalists are screaming about how we need to ban porn and how horrible it is, the owners of their pet project are bringing back the "Penthouse Forums" section, in an interactive form; akin to 1-900 numbers.

Which memos aren't getting where?

This mindset certainly attracts a type, doesn't it?

It's like a look alike contest.

Horrific, and they learned it from their parents and grandparents, who said this kind of stuff in the 80s, but weren't so easily held accountable as they could be now.

I look at it this way - if they post things like this on the internet, they have already outed themselves - consequences.

Shelled all the pecans.
Defrosted the freezer and lost nothing (getting a lot better at using it all up)
Walking tacos with my eldest for dinner.
Watched a stack of horror movies while shelling.
My new library faery hat is almost done.

And music:

Took me a few to realize it was parody given today's internet and society.

I seriously head tilted - then read the thread and found out that yes, this IS parody.

Knowing this, it's funny.

If it's a fond memory, then embrace it - and nap on it occasionally.

Washed all the rags we used yesterday - these were all brand new, pristine white. They came home in a bucket dark brown. I think I didn't do too badly getting them clean.

This is 6 people's rags - we used a lot.

There's still more to go.
Freshly washed cleaning rags hanging on the line. And a couple of sheets used to protect the new floor in the museum.

/3 Follow along.

I plan to review some of my favorite creepy scary books this week at some point, but in the meantime, I'll keep trying to fix my weedeater, sand and paint the new library bench and trinket shelf, and cursing the mocking bird that's been sounding like a fox territorial alert.

/2 so if you want to hear about the coyotes and the dead deer carcass I plan to get some great bones from this winter, the dogs alerting across the creek so hard the chickens stayed in an extra two hours, about the last stages of cleaning and starting to reset the museum after the flood?

Sorry if I'm going really small scale lately; I had anxiety attacks about leaving the house this week. For a PLANNED trip to town.

Last time I had an anxiety attack was June 2020, mid Covid for an UNPLANNED need to sub at the library (I started in October 2020).

So right now? Small scale for me.

Sitting down for a minute, wondering why my leg is so cold - did I spill water on myself when getting water from the creek for the chickens?

I look down - no, Twink, the slightly disabled rooster, crapped all down my leg when I carried him out to the yard.

And into the laundry the pants go.
libraryfaery.bsky.social
No. I removed myself from most other social media. Seemed safer that way. (Not from people but from my own government.)

I figured out, as I washed this year old flood mud off of things today, what the smell reminds me of.

Pottery class - both high school and college.

OK - change clothes, walk the dog that wants a walk, gather my gear for today, consider lunch maybe.

Try the weedwhacker again, just in case.

Be prepared to do everything on my own again, just in case.

The same brand and style - cause we already have batteries out the behind of all of these tools - $160.

Not bad, just don't have it.

It's the only way I'm getting through the kudzu so that I can clear the space to see when the coyotes come down. They already left me a stinking deer carcass.

Bob damn it -the anxiety is rearing up again, and today, I'm only going 2 miles away.

Today's is fueled by communal fuck you I'm expecting - everyone loves a finished community project, but coming to help with it? Oh no - that's too much work.

I'm so tired.
libraryfaery.bsky.social
I love this one, actually. I bought book two for the library but haven't had time to read it yet.

Sooooooon!

IT is - he's planning on slapping a new tariff on China.

34 "grown up" books, four in progress and over 40 children's books. (I read them as they come in.)

And now my weedwhacker broke.

I replaced my pressure canner yesterday (which also needed it cause the old one has a bowed bottom) and I cannot afford to replace the weedwhacker for several more weeks.

Any anxiety levels? we won't talk about my anxiety this week. Can't afford that either.
