While James Bond is undoubtedly a powerful symbol of British cultural identity, using him to bolster support for your political views - whichever way you swing personally - is simply not cricket.

Yours is one of the most beautifully written pieces I've ever read, more than doing justice to a beautiful film which I've been obsessed with since I first saw it back on a French import DVD. Can't wait to rewatch it now and savour the fresh perspectives.
