Miyazaki survived the bombing of Utsunomiya as a child. His family escaped in a car, but left a neighbor and her daughter behind to save themselves. Miyazaki regrets this, and said this has stayed with him and shaped his film making. He hopes his audience will learn the courage he lacked in 1945.

When I first came to the US one of the things I learned was established VAs would actively discourage or look down on newer actors asking for appearance fees at conventions, often judging them for how much they were asking for.

That never should have been a thing.

I can't help but be really disappointed to see some people say that "you fans are safe with me" which is a valid sentiment, but also continue to accept paychecks from a company that keeps recasting their colleagues, while the fanbase treats those people like shit.
