His career could be 1000 years long and it still wouldn’t make sense to me.

It’s depressed me to learn that Robbie Williams - a man whose confidence to talent ratio is painfully misaligned - is tied with the Beatles at 15 number one albums. I worry about the British public sometimes, I really do. #IfAnyonePlaysAngelsAtMyFuneralIWillComeBackAndHauntThem

I’ve imagined it and I would just think ‘she looks amazing’ if I saw it 💅

Trying to start Jungle Commandos by @lmbd1418.bsky.social but my cat is fuzzy and purring and making it very, very hard to get anywhere fast. It’s fantastic so far though.

Just received my copy of 'Jungle Commandos' by Lucy Betteridge-Dyson - looking forward to digging into this long-needed account of the hellish Battle of Arakan and getting some sense of what those there endured. @lmbd1418.bsky.social

It’s funny because, I do not feel successful - appearances can be deceptive, I think. I wanted to do PhD because I needed something to do next after finishing my book and it’s an area I really want to research. My decision was made easier because I got a grant, too.

My book being published has been great, getting my PhD place at KCL - also fab - being awarded a scholarship by Burma Star Memorial Fund, amazing - but this wee lad is the best thing I’ve done this year by a country mile. 🩷

Ok this gives me some hope. I’ve just submitted my claim with all my evidence and they’ve sent an emergency team out to repair the road, such is the severity of the defect, which I hope will go in my favour.

“Drawing on unpublished first-hand accounts, this is a gripping history of the experiences of the Commandos and their unsung allies in one of the bloodiest battles of the Burma Campaign.”

I love reviewing Canadian official First World War photographs in real time. Fall is an especially great season for this.
