The lyrics continue:

They're all equally backwards and wrong
Sharpen axes, not wits

We’re being told to fear strangers. We’re encouraged to be uncomfortable around others. To turn on our neighbors, to finger point at friends, to cast out all who are different, to abandon empathy.

Caplan’s song (worth a listen to hear all the lyrics, plus it’s great music) is farcical, but hits true in the face of current events.

We are all just finding our way - moving toward each other is the answer, not away.
