Anyway, I understand what you’re getting at.

My point is all slavery is evil. No reason to give any credence to bad faith actors who try to justify trans-Atlantic slavery by saying “you guys did it too”.

I read your post, the responses, and your responses thereto.

The gist of such interactions was a juxtaposition of chattel slavery & other forms of slavery throughout antiquity.

It was always a comparison; the implication being one form is worse than the other.

That’s kinda how comparisons work.🤷🏽‍♂️

Umm, it’s not that simple. Try making this esoteric distinction to Roman slaves subjected to Spanish silver mines, land estates, or gladiator schools.

Chattel slavery was an abomination, but so were the other forms of slavery in antiquity.

No such thing as a “less bad” form of slavery.
