I think he does just because he is highly regarded across the league and his contract is seen as a bargain. I think it’s all moot. I don’t think they’d consider dealing him.

I’m not sure Guhle is ready to play at the level everyone thinks he’s playing at… More games like last night and you don’t deal him. But that needs to be consistent and he needs to stay healthy.

As Brian said, Michael Hage is developing nicely. Many assume he will be dealt to land the 2C. Not buying that. I think he will be the eventual 2C, and a veteran will be brought in to fill that hole in the short term. The Barron-Carrier deal is coming, but I will be shocked if Hage is dealt. #Habs

I know some are worried about Demidov and his linemates. I’m not. He will settle in with his current crew, but HuGo is committed to this player. A legit 2C will be had, and he will likely play between Demidov and Bolduc. Patience is the key. #Habs

About Demidov, we’re seeing a little more complexity from him as well. A big backcheck, and getting busy in a scrum. He’s committed to playing the NHL way, it appears. #Habs

Last night was Kaiden Guhle’s best of the season so far. They want to target Demidov? Sure. Guhle demolishes Nazar. Nice intensity at the end to score the winner too. #Habs

I was thinking the same as Brian but resisted in my own piece. Sam Montembeault has not looked great in his two starts. Hopefully he warms up and settles into it, but I favour a tandem regardless. Give Dobes more starts! #Habs

Here’s a controversial one. Forget Laine. I’m more concerned about how Guhle is not fitting so well with Hutson. It’s early - way too early to freak out - but the other two pairs are working well. 21-48 is not a smooth operation just yet. #Habs

It’s the last year of his contract. My expectation is that Laine has until maybe Christmas to make himself more useful. #Habs

Excellent performances from the newbies again. As I expected when Bolduc was added, Laine will have to earn top six minutes, which he hasn’t really done in some time. Marty is trying to make him figure out their game on the 4th line, but that’s uphill. #Habs

Impressive win by the Canadiens in Detroit. No Wilde Goats to speak of and a lot of positives. However, one bone to pick in the Wilde Cards in this Call Of the Wilde for Global Montreal.
