We can't just be mad about it, we have to oppose it.
lotts.bsky.social
They couldn’t have done any of it without the centre left aiding them.
lotts.bsky.social
Only if you choose to never recover them.
lotts.bsky.social
Didn’t real bananas used to taste like that or something?
lotts.bsky.social
Mistake? Nope. Right on brand.

I think most working class people are aware they are getting poorer and the “communism” rhetoric is losing its power. That’s why they have to deny young people access to an open source internet after all. Of all the “lost” voters I met last election all had one thing in common, looking for fairness.

I think most people are well aware of the problem. What is lacking is a path to economic equality. We just don’t have representation willing to admit neoliberalism has failed and offer a meaningful alternative.
lotts.bsky.social
Because the “problem” requiring a solution, is the rich and the fact we simply cannot satisfy the insatiable greed of the wealthy. How many other so called problems just vanish without it?

Seems to me the real solution is some mental health diagnoses and treatment for the wealth hoarders.

Cool. Let me know when that's on the ballot. Three decades of MMP has not worked out well for the left, but certainly well for Labour supporters. So much so they'll encourage people to vote for the Green's. No threat to them at all.

Police aren't going to combat the consequences of economic injustice. Real income, wealth and housing equality; and ending the drug war will.
lotts.bsky.social
Yet I met a lot of voters last general election desperately looking for actual progress on the ballot. People are sick of voting for incrementally backwards.
lotts.bsky.social
The sick thing about this is that even a CGT is wholly insufficient now (as we are witnessing everywhere where there is one). We should definitely do it, but to think it will in any way move the needle on housing justice, it just won't.
lotts.bsky.social
It's almost like we live in a society where central govt doesn't offer anything that truly benefits the working class unless they are forced to, and we have a beaten down public who have been conditioned to accept less than they rejected at the previous election and like it - round and round.

Rates rises are a choice. One that doesn't need to be made. Suspicious that we don't talk about that, isn't it?
lotts.bsky.social
Forgive me if I do not share the same confidence as you. I was not willing to look away when they apologised for including, and removed, the only thing remotely close to a protection from future sale. I don't happen to have a memory like a fish where I forgot everything else they have sold off.
lotts.bsky.social
God forbid anyone ask why we can’t have policies that are fair to working class people.
lotts.bsky.social
No one will fuck up the chances of the left more than the I’m alright Jack liberals who will oppose legitimate left policy harder than they will the right.
lotts.bsky.social
Is there a reason we can’t have one of the ways that doesn’t serve capital or the racists? Jfc 🙄
lotts.bsky.social
I don’t know what they’re on about. They responded but clearly can’t stand behind their comment since they blocked me from reading it or responding. I’m not pretending to be a NZer, and if the “left” is people calling you a troll and fraud for demanding policy, then the working class is done.
lotts.bsky.social
Three Waters was not the only way to cover national water maintenance without rates rises. That was a lie used to justify it. It's still a lie.

Now we are stuck just accepting them because people refuse to acknowledge that or demand an alternative.

If you are old enough to know who Michael Keaton is you are definitely old enough to know who Diane is. They were only a few years apart in age. No, they were not related.
lotts.bsky.social
You went from defending it as being for kids who are working to admitting the intention is most likely for other reasons.

"Not designed for them"? Like what? The truth.

Palantir's CEO Alex Karp commits Genocide and wants to use drones to poison people who protest against him.

He also has all your Medical Data and soon most of your personal data as Palantir run Healthcare and Digital ID systems all across Europe/US.

But he should be in prison.

No, actually we do not. Even if you believed that to be true if you believe cancer stricken people are fit to run a country you are a deeply unserious person.

So you agree it’s likely not just about work then? Not that your argument makes sense because if you need the ID to access “inappropriate” material, what do children who won’t be accessing the material need ID for?
