We can't just be mad about it, we have to oppose it.
lotts.bsky.social
Oh not a chance. I know we're supposed to have reasons like 'oh it benefits the economy to have people eat well blah blah bah', but it just pisses me off that people don't have access to complete diets for their quality of life.

So Labour are going to commit to fully renationalising communications, right?
lotts.bsky.social
Proportional voting in NZ hasn’t shifted the needle at all in 30 years. I’d go as far to say it’s been worse for the left, and I never thought I’d say that. It’s still effectively a two party system with Labour getting help from Green’s voters.

We’ve for a long time normalised not paying certain demographics who are locked out of employment, now they’re just adding to it. We need an alternative as more and more people join the unemployed and they find new ways to minimise govt responsibility for covering lost incomes.
lotts.bsky.social
Depends whether you are a holder of capital or a wage slave who pays for the line to go up without wage increases to match. They don’t care about unemployment as long as the profit lines continue to go up. They care about paying for them, but as we see they just chuck them off regardless.

I see this a lot but I still haven’t seen what supposed opposition parties are doing differently to what they did before.

We turned what should be an economy that serves the people into one where the people serve the economy. I think this covers pretty well how an economy should be.

RNZ's reasons to feel optimistic:
1. More of you will become rent slaves.
2. New job no.s are up - so little it's probably negative.
3. Export prices up - so they'll be able to charge you more too.
4. You're spending more - on food and rent.
5. It sucks for u but those we care about are doing great

Well you appear not to respect them enough to stand behind living standards that are not only fair, but essential for surviving life under capitalism caused climate change. I don't know what else to think. Do you have a reason why trees are too much to ask for?
lotts.bsky.social
YOU are the one who took the conversation off course into one about supposed people you have seen with issues stemming from not being circumcised. It's not only irrelevant to the conversation, but it's nonsense.
lotts.bsky.social
He wouldn't even say he opposed it. His biggest criticism is the exact way they have implemented it. The man is a walking red flag for a future NZ Starmer-esque govt.
lotts.bsky.social
for the poor that wealthy people are afforded. Especially something so basic as life preserving conditions. Geezus surely that's the bare minimum. But imo poor people should also have quality beautiful homes and space - indoor & outdoor. But you are telling me trees are too much to ask for.
lotts.bsky.social
The trees kinda need to be where the people are. There's a study in Australia to prove that.

I don't understand the argument for supporting giving poor people shitty conditions, "it's better than nothing". Just say you hate poor people. There is no reason we should not expect the same privileges
lotts.bsky.social
What's the point in that without building some meaningful working class representation first? The voters you need to help you remove them aren't voting this govt in or out, they are voters demanding something to vote for.
lotts.bsky.social
Absolutely appalling there is no requirement for trees. Poor people are going to pay with their lives for being denied them.
lotts.bsky.social
It is unsurprising that people are losing faith in democracy when it appears we have anything but a democracy.
lotts.bsky.social
If they would have voted for a 'dirtbag' I'm glad they didn't vote.

People not participating in voting doesn't make people jerks ftr, it makes the system a failure.

You missed out Hipkins quietly cheering him on in the distance.

This isn’t a new video, it’s been going around for quite some time now.

They’re literally the reason I don’t wear skirts or dresses anymore. I hated the feeling of them and they never stayed up on me.

Weird that some people can fall into the same problems with alcohol, yet we treat the two drugs so differently. We really should end the drug war.
lotts.bsky.social
No joke. Evil bastards.

The old boys are my absolute favourite. I adore each and every one of them. Big Mac even a little more if I’m honest *shshh*
