In a Thu raid on a Jackson Heights apt, agents had a (rare) signed judicial warrant to search an apt (no residents were named), but still they forced their way in, while outside they had agents with assault rifles, an ICE caravan of oversized vehicles, and a helicopter overhead. Two people taken.

t-minus one day to turning in my dissertation and it's a 335 page word document with the appendices and bibliography and I haven't written the acknowledgments (feel like it's bad luck to do the victory lap bit before you've actually finished, is this normal)

it is wild to me that post war financiers and early venture capitalist spent *decades* arguing that what they did wasnt gambling, that it required specific skills, and that they acted in the interests of the national project, and today people are just like WHAT IF WE MADE EVERYTHING GAMBLING
