@zackpolanski.bsky.social wants to introduce a wealth tax of 1% on assets of over £10m & 2% on assets over £1bn & if the super rich want to leave the UK because they are being taxed a tiny amount more then we should wave them goodbye

Thatcherite John Redwood says 1% isn't a tiny amount.

Jones says he won't comment on leaks but goes on to say there's a huge backlog of cases & a need for timely justice (which is the argument being used to justify these proposals)

Last year Rachel Reeves said that extending the freeze on income tax thresholds hurts working people & takes more money out of their payslips & she wouldn't be doing that because she was keeping her promises made in the manifesto.

So she won't be doing it today either, right?
