Two notable lounge closures this week. The only Alaska Lounge at JFK (T7) has closed, since AS has moved to T8. Also, the Admirals Club at LAX (T5) has closed, as Terminal 5 is undergoing a ($1.7 billion) complete remodel.
Watching what I think is a training flight (on an Atlas Air) for the new VC-25B during training flights to get ready for the new Air Force One at Austin (AUS) do a departure from intersection of taxiway T. Never seen a 747-8 use only 1/2 the runway. #AVGeek

Wow, it appears you can get from DFW to DAL, if true that is kinda nice. I have been in a situation where I flew into DFW for a conference and wanted to fly home from DAL.
I do understand the concepts of controller workload and dual-runway departure/arrival standards. BUT it is super inefficient to have this many lined up for departure, and an open runway doing basically nothing. A 737 burns around 120 gallons per hour with dual engine in idle.
Just saw this news. I feel like this has happened before, but still very interesting when a county changes the prefix of their ICAO codes, from UT to UZ.

From a lounge perspective only Tashkent (UTTT to UZTT) and Samarkand (UTSS to UZSS) appear to have lounges.

Laurel Parking Garage, everyone loves parking garage 😉 Also, Nolita Hall is good and has food!
I am now interested in going to celebrate this Oktoberfest from a local pizza place.
Saw this sticker on a street bench while in Los Angeles this last weekend and I think it applies to this story.
Wonder if a digital version could work (next year) with a leaderboard. I could help you with programming it if interested.
Saw this old beauty at AUS on my way to #SpotLAX2025 this beauty was born in July 1967 #AVGeek
I think this is 100% no longer true, BUT I have always been interested in the Theme Building at LAX. According to the article "only open the second weekend of each month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m."

This quirky UFO-shaped curiosity is often mistaken for the airport’s control tower.

Yup, getting excited. Also, here is a photo from last year!
I would love to be a testing passenger on one of those flights! Too bad they can't fill it up with AVGeeks.

Well... this sucks.
The Trump administration intends to not enforce airlines compensating passengers for flight disruptions.
