Companies will never admit this but it's fact that piracy, emulation and modding are incredibly important to the history of video games. A lot of developers got their start in rom hacks and mods and piracy and emulators allowed games to be ported and played en masse.

I still really love it, though I am not the biggest fan of the gooner episode just because it's REALLY intense on the ick factor for me.
