I rode a motorbike into a barbed wire fence as a kid. No faster than I rode my bicycle today. Very good thing my uncle was a lazy fence builder (otherwise hard-working farmer), or I would not be posting. Cable fences are super dangerous!

Good news #yegbike, 108 ave at 113 st now reversed. New stop signs EW, free flow NS. But remain vigilant, many drivers have years of experience thd other way.

Since all that air pollution from burning fossil fuels can trigger asthma, maybe a cart and horse problem?

Absolutely valid question. My instinct is that vehicle weight is FAR less important than design aspects: size, visibility from inside and out (window tinting that doesn’t let you understand driver intent), distraction a like video screens, etc all much more “impactful “.

As a cyclist, I don’t mind not stopping 3 times in 3 blocks, but 108 ave is very dangerous right now with no stop sign for cyclists going north and no stop sign for cars going E-W. I hope the narrowed traffic lane will help slow drivers by design. Not convinced yet though.

I’ve got my lawn sign. This is a no-brainer vote in my ward.

You've heard about the flat earther running for school board, but meet @hollyfortrustee.bsky.social, the competent, passionate and brilliant candidate I'm rooting for to win.

She's going to fight to ensure public dollars stay in the public system, and teachers have the supports they need.

Gotta suck for TO not to be able to reuse “we the north” for the Blue Jays series. A full 4 degrees south of Seattle!

My pharmacy told me they won’t have any. Superstore on Kingsway.

That would be great! At least I would know that people endangering me on shared streets KNOWS what sharrows mean.

Check out Troy Pavleks feed. Got 2 choices in my ward, only one makes any sense.

Many many illegally placed signs contradict clean up message. Rules for who?

In my ‘hood. I hate that crossing. And the one with Princess Elizabeth. The angled roads encourage high-speed turns with limited checking both ways. We should get a new one next year one block east at the end of the new MUP. Hopefully the beg feature won’t be as long as typical!

Think about the transit system we could have!
ltrytten.bsky.social
That is an amazing low price!

The inability to get from the periodically operating funicular to the west is frustrating. Riding north up the sidewalk to cross west and return technically illegal, but riding the street randomly dangerous.

Great to see so many #yegbike users out on the paths on this last great day of atypical fall weather!

Wait until winter when the driver use of the sidewalks will become very evident in area without boulevards. They park on sidewalks all the time in winter - and in summer too.

Great episode if you’re in Alberta and wondering what the heck is going on, or elsewhere and confused about Alberta political news.

Sure, people would park in them, but police or ambulance pulling up are in a much better situation to make enforcement happen than ordinary citizens. Thanks police for doing your jobs, AND parking in such a way that I wasn’t squeezed out.

Buildings was full. I suspect the parking lots behind each building NOT full but I didn’t check. They were responding to a call inside an apartment bldg, I’ll give them grace on a good try. But why are there not 2-4 temp spots along the street for 10min delivery, emergency services, etc?

Yegbike Coming home from downtown on new 113 st bike lane at 106-107 ave, YEG police parked in the lane. Frustrating, but they did a good job of parking where there was no curb so easy to get around. Don’t blame them, since the street parking in front of the apartments on this block with 9 low-rise
