A favour to ask from somebody in the US—could somebody possibly check and see if Act Like It and Pretty Face are currently on sale for $1.99 and $2.99 respectively; I can't see the US prices. Thanks so much. :)

Oh, I'm so glad. ❤️❤️

Thank you! ❤️ As someone who's also leaning heavily on my biggest comfort re-reads right now, I'm so glad Act Like It and the others are that for you. xx

I imagine Cat Richard has probably eaten or shredded most of Human Richard's corners by this point, along with the rest of the house, but the deep affection is there. Just, you know, deeply buried. :)

Thank you so much, Maria, that's made my day. :) (Although I agree—I wish there were more romances set in the theatre. I'll be writing another one myself, but I enjoy them as a reader too.)

I feel like most of us* could probably do with a Cat Richard right now! :)

*maybe not Human Richard.

Last night I was doomscrolling reddit and this post was like… an unexpected poem and also now I want to whisper little love spells over everything I make. For my own good as well as for others.
A screencap of a Reddit post in the r/crochet subreddit by user Ragdoll232. The subject line reads “My MIL tells me Yarn has Memory.” The post reads “I know she means for shape, but I just want to whisper words of love into this sweater I’m making my husband so it remembers and can remind him how loved he is.”

And, of course, "Cat Richard"'s Instagram, because Cat Richard cannot be left out:

In honour of a belated Valentine's Day, here are some of the very loving Valentine texts between Lainie and Richard (who would have a lot of things to say about the nightmarishly bad state the world is in) from Act Like It, written for Elena's Book Blog years ago.

This week's Tuesday snippet comes from Wooing the Witch Queen...which comes out in just one week! (And I've been seeing exciting photos of it already showing up on some North American bookshelves...)

An image of the front cover of Wooing the Witch Queen shows a sinister witch queen in a spectacular beaded dress embracing her handsome and adoring new librarian (in a black wizard's robe) inside a library of magic filled with crows and masks and flying books. Above and beside it is this snippet from the book:
The witch queen of Kitvaria might be capable of many previously-unheard-of things, but she was certainly not interested in flirting with him now. Perhaps she was in a whimsical mood, after whatever great spell she’d been working on the roof; more worryingly, she might be hinting at real anger.
Either way, he had to remember that she was infinitely more likely to kill him than to kiss him, no matter what his treacherously reawakening body might wish him to imagine.

In the centre of the square image is the cover of Stephanie Burgis’s Wooing the Witch Queen, which shows a sinister witch queen in a spectacular beaded dress embracing her handsome and adoring new librarian (in a black wizard's robe) inside a library of magic filled with crows and masks and flying books. Around it are these bits of descriptive text: Fierce, bi witch queen; sweet, nerdy hero with a secret identity; found family; mischievous crows; magical library; flirting with fountain pens. At the bottom right corner of the image is a picture of a glittering black masquerade mask.

Thank you! :) It's important to me that it does, because I know audio is not accessible for everyone, and I have quite a few readers who are part of the deaf and HoH communities. I'm in the process of sorting that out at the moment, so hope to have info on that soon. x

Just the word "grumpy" in a romance blurb triggers the grabby hands gif.

Thank you! :) And I love that. (And really would not mind a few evenings (...a week) in Sylvie's magical cocktails forest at the moment, either.)
