I can’t believe Buffy ship wars are going on over on twitter because Zhao mentioned she thinks Riley is a healthier relationship than Spike. Arguing to the death that Angel isn’t better because he should be with Cordelia and Riley was a jerk and Spike was a psychopath but then he wasn’t and—

Well I finished Butter. An amazing piece of work. If I taught Modern Literature at a university I would IMMEDIATELY put this on my syllabus. So many layers, so much delicious subtext, such fascinating characters. Both razor sharp and savage, and deeply sad and despairing.

I just need to know how you can make the constant too familiar we can help your wonderful book be more successful spam emails stop. The tone of them, and the way they refer back to previous emails as if we are already having a conversation, makes my fucking skin crawl.

Been to Whitby today, ate some lovely gravy dip sandwiches, did some Christmas shopping, bought some haggis spice 100% dark chocolate, some Parma violets ice cream, and then visited the little fox bookshop which is a gorgeous YA/MG selling place, I bought two bookmarks and a tote.

One of my editors just suggested we change a reference to a celebrity behaving badly in one of my books, because you know legal hot water and all that. Only thing is: I just plucked the name out of the air lol. I made him up. I accidentally almost libelled the keyboardist of Maroon 5.

Nearly 16k people entered the giveaway for While You Were Seething. 16k!! And that’s without Canada. I think the highest I’ve ever had was 18k with more copies and Canadian entries.

Tbh I feel like he just looked up popular Star Wars opinions and copied whatever he found.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

I don’t think its bad exactly, but it’s definitely been revisioned into some Great status it doesn’t deserve due to variety of very silly factors. Kennedy also salvaged that film from what appears to be nightmarish levels of terribleness.
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

If you’re looking for low-stress TV shows to watch, I cannot recommend getting PBS Passport enough. So many soothing shows that will instantly lower your blood pressure.

You can tell Jacob Elordi didn’t grow up with money because when he went to buy a tote bag, and they said that will be 54 dollars, he just paid it because he was too embarrassed to admit he never in his wildest most horrified dreams imagined a tote bag would be 54 dollars.

I’ve kind of gone dead inside about certain terrible situations in this industry that I’m currently navigating, but not dead enough. I’m still getting stung by certain things. I need to be deader.

Who would have ever thought that The Pitt would spring up a fandom this bonkers. Whole massive ship wars, over a gritty realistic ER drama.

I no longer believe some people like Trump because they think he will help usher in communism or because he can be molded to left wing politics or whatever else. I think people who claim this actually like him because they just like fascism. They like racism. They like misogyny.

I see people are doing the thing where they blame some new emerging sub genre or trend for beginning something toxic so they don’t have to face that the same thing (aligning with patriarchal white supremacy) is in their fandoms, fanfics and other Romance sub genres and has been growing for years.

I don’t mind if people do mention the pandemic in their books. I don’t mind if they don’t. I DO mind if people are a jerk about either choice.

Butter by Azako Yuziki is fantastic. The way it gently pulls on the threads of your mind, drawing you in.

The funniest thing about so many people on the “left” immediately saying capitulating to Trump is the way because of that Mamdani meeting is that Mamdani himself didn’t even seem to do that. He called Trump a fascist to his face.
November 23, 2025 at 1:44 PM
Yeah see the thing is, getting along with and appeasing and capitulating to Trump isn‘t called being a smart democrat, it’s called collaboration with a fascist. Mamdani didn’t even seem to do any of that, so I’ve no idea why some big commentators are suggesting he did and recommending as a playbook.

That was the first time I’ve slept through a full eight hours in over a week. Hives are now down to patches of yellow and pale pink. I actually managed to cover myself up too without them going really angry.
