I’ve also never had close to 200 likes for a cover. To be fair though, I’d think everyone was a liar if they tried to claim that cover isn’t a beast.

I think people might be slightly interested in While You Were Seething.

Lol look. Like what the heck.
A row of five books, mine on the end.

😂😂😂 when you go to Romance on netgalley on the front page there’s like a spotlight book and then top recommended and most requested - rows of five books only. And for the first time my book is on the row of most requested. It’s on the front page.
charlottestein.bsky.social
Absolutely flabbergasted. That has NEVER happened to me. I don’t even know how it’s possible.
charlottestein.bsky.social
While You Were Seething made the top motherfucking row of the most requested Romances on Netgalley. Look at those other authors on that top row, like shut UP.
A screencap of the top two rows, my book is the last one. Row of five, there is also Colleen Hoover, Hannah Grace and Kasie west on there.

I don’t know what further ways we could be told that Trump has dementia and is simply not the decision maker anymore.

“Illinois governor says we’re provoking actions that are unlawful,” Miller said on CNN. “If I put federal law enforcement and National Guard into a nice sleepy Southern town, is anyone gonna riot?”

Huh: TikTok took down my 8-second video featuring this image of Debbie Brockman — the news producer just detained by Trump’s CBP agents — saying it violates the “joy of TikTok”

To be fair it’s just the PDF thing not working right and my feelings getting hurt and radio silence on something really important that I don’t want to have to deal with, but even so. I’m just at my limit right now. I’ve had enough.

I really hate when you’re like right, I’m gonna ignore the bad stuff that just happened and just get on with things, enjoy the good stuff. And then more bad shit happens.

There are plenty of actors where their wealth buys them the privilege of access to Hollywood, but still can’t repeatedly be the star of major franchises if they’re that terrible
charlottestein.bsky.social
I argued with someone only yesterday saying Legends and Lattes is toothless slop and terrible because it was marketed as having “kindness” in it by YA authors. This is the end game. A return to almost entirely old white men writing “grimdark” fantasy.
charlottestein.bsky.social
I keep saying that is exactly what talk like this is about. This is why the Sad Puppies “went away”. Because they marketed their demands differently and everybody sucked it up and continued the work for them.

The contrast between “Portland is burning” and dancing frogs is all over tik tok, btw. Massively viral.

They know they are ridiculous people and the thing they hate most is being laughed at. They want everyone terrified and intimidated by how MANLY and LETHAL they are, not laughing because they got got by a grating frog.
laurajedeed.bsky.social
This video is everywhere because it's a hilarious visual refutation of Portland being on fire. You can't get a mass movement going without convincing the masses

so yes, this does do something actually

Reading the new KD Casey and having the same much-loved feeling as always, which is: Why I am ever reading anything NOT by KD Casey?

Funny how that ends up being the conclusion, isn’t it? A reinforcement of the status quo. A regression. A return to only reading books the Sad Puppies insisted should be the only types of things respected.

More specifically, no, most adult fantasy is not written by YA authors. I don't know where that claim originated, but it's in no way even remotely true. I don't know what y'all think YA is, but no. And, of course, these complaints always end up at "and this is why I only read SFF from 50 years ago."

I don't know what adult fantasy fiction you're reading, but over here in marginalized voices land, fantasy is doing incredible things. Stunning narrative styles and structures, intriguing characters, powerful themes. This feels like a you problem than anything indicative of the genre as a whole.

Every time someone gets on Beyonce's internet to whine about adult fantasy by blaming YA, I they should have to read one (1) recently released YA book first.
