The One Pinned Post:
I do preservation and emulation stuff with obscure retro Nintendo systems like Satellaview and 64DD, I sometimes datamine stuff from Switch games, and I have a thing with mischievous cute wizard-like characters and I ended up making one myself.

Square producer Akitoshi Kawazu mentions that Square had received a development kit for the Super Famicom CD-ROM drive and that tests for a new Final Fantasy had been carried out with it. The workstations were NEWS.

I will gladly draw all of the frogs as a symbol for the movement, explicitly to take them back from the fuckers who co opted Pepe for their nazi shit.
A cheery, cute frog looking up and flipping off the camera while saying “fuck off, fascists.”

There's no evidence of anything else, if somehow they got more and that I can tell from public screenshots that they got actually sensible shit then I'll retract what I said

There's news that Nintendo got hacked but since people don't know what they're talking about, people get hyped for a gigaleak 2 when all they got is just basically the repositories for what manages the japanese topic (news) pages.
luigiblood.bsky.social
Well you basically implied hacking through China can be pretty indirect when in the particular case of the gigaleak, it was a development partner of Nintendo who's working with them on first party titles and Pokémon
luigiblood.bsky.social
it is Japan side but hacking into the japanese website server is not going to let you access to the game dev servers so there was just way less chance of accessing anything sensible
luigiblood.bsky.social
Through iQue, which is a direct partner of Nintendo who does localization and engineering for Nintendo (such as making emulators and more), so having pretty sensible leaks from there is not nonsense.

emulator filter called gameboy advance at night which looks like this

Actually at one point it was the job of the BIOS to do this at boot and it didn't fucking warn for shit thanks MSI
I needed to get Linux on USB, and chad Ubuntu straight up at boot said "hey one of your HDDs is dying/dead, wanna check the status of it?"
luigiblood.bsky.social
Hey Windows 10 it could have been cool if you warned the user that the SMART of a HDD is telling "hey I'm dying the fuck out right now" instead of constantly trying to act as if everything is normal

I'm mostly disappointed about how I can't just seem to play Mario & Wario in any relaxed way with a wireless mouse

New Blog Post: Review of official SNES Mouse Emulation
I had to compile my thoughts about how wrong it feels.

Okay actually Mario & Wario on Low speed setting is fine. But clearly something is wrong with higher speeds.
luigiblood.bsky.social
okay so... I'm sorry to NERD here but I think the SNES Mouse emulation is bad
When all mouse stuff just works fine on the HOME Menu and then it jitters too much on Mario & Wario, it's harder to move even on High speed... honestly it bothers the heck out of me
luigiblood.bsky.social
Well there is a system setting for Switch 2 mouse sensitivity but it doesn't change a thing on the NSO app.
luigiblood.bsky.social
It doesn't look like it does to me.

Actually I just tried Mario Paint, this time with the intention of comparing the sensitivity on both Medium and High on real hardware VS Switch 2, while drawing + Gnat Attack.
It's impossible for me to properly finish Gnat Attack on Switch 2 while I did the 3 stages relatively easily on real HW.
luigiblood.bsky.social
I just spent time on Mario Paint, playing with in-game Medium and High sensitivity settings for drawing and Gnat Attack on both real hardware and Switch 2: it does not correspond very much...

If you use Joy Con 2s, just lift them like a controller and hold ZL+ZR
luigiblood.bsky.social
There's also how I have problems clicking, but that's probably the problem of the Joy Con 2 form factor but at the same time... I'm not even fully certain of that. Sometimes I click and it doesn't register, and I don't have that problem on real hardware.
luigiblood.bsky.social
For having tried both, the difference is not easy to explain, it is a similar sensitivity, but it's not the same thing
luigiblood.bsky.social
I believe I'm constantly overshooting on real hardware, while I'm constantly undershooting on Switch 2. In fact going slowly is weird on Switch 2, and it really doesn't feel as good, even with a USB Mouse
Doesn't help that the game runs at 30 FPS in-game (that's how the game is originally coded)
luigiblood.bsky.social
So I literally just played Mario & Wario's Level 2 on real hardware with the official SNES Mouse, and then I played it again on Switch 2 with the Joy Con 2.
I am legit having an easier time on real hardware. The sensitivity is similar but there is a key difference...
