The One Pinned Post:
I do preservation and emulation stuff with obscure retro Nintendo systems like Satellaview and 64DD, I sometimes datamine stuff from Switch games, and I have a thing with mischievous cute wizard-like characters and I ended up making one myself.

I signed the EU petition because it was the first time ever that I was given some sort of power to actually at least do something that can at least try to change. It's not the most definite solution, but it's something that clearly annoys them so I'm just down doing it
luigiblood.bsky.social
That point I clearly understood, and I don't disagree with it as I said in my first post, but what other options do we have is my question, everything is literally getting worse, so I'm not really here to accept "oh actually this could really backfire hard we need to talk" without any solutions
luigiblood.bsky.social
TBH I don't necessarily expect the Stop Killing Games movement to be fully honest
Honestly I just signed it to annoy the big game industry. It is indeed for symbolism for me, because we just have zero negociation power. Most people just buy and accept the bullshit.

It's not a bad post by any means, but it's so long for something that I feel like I understood the point for 1/4th of the post, so then I skipped around, and then I saw the end and I felt insulted by its apparent naiveté, even if the writer isn't full of it

yes, added today on SNES Nintendo Classics

So I tried to play Mario & Wario and I really gotta have a proper mouse pad or something

In all fairness to the article, it does actually basically say the same thing I said as I just read again, but it still comes with some naive thoughts, questioning about the punishment towards the industry:

That's the point. No one likes this, but the other side isn't doing any hint of good faith.

Au delà de la news, les gens comprennent pas le bordel que ça nous fout vis à vis des prestataires, clients, la pub qui fuit déjà.

Pas Merci Sylvain.

Too much time spent on why it is not a good idea, but not much time spent on how publishers are so much of a fucking brick wall that we just rely on whatever we can to actually push and force them to do the good thing

WHY IS THIS NOT TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT
luigiblood.bsky.social
I half read something that talks about how Stop Killing Games is a bad idea (for essentially because legislation is shit, which, tbh, yes, I agree), the technicality of why, which I can also agree

but it just ends with essentially "it would be good if publishers could do concessions" & it angers me

Since then though, they removed this way of enabling mouse with those game ID numbers, and last year completely changed how SNES Mouse emulation works

But two of those 3 IDs are Mario Paint and Mario & Wario confirmed now. Those are the only released games that REQUIRES the Mouse to function.
luigiblood.bsky.social
in 2019 the emulator supported two ways to enable the SNES Mouse: either the metadata tells to enable the mouse, or the metadata indicates a game ID number, and 3 specific ones specifically enables the mouse. Also the Mouse only worked on Port 1 so it didn't have full SNES Mouse support
luigiblood.bsky.social
I'm not sure about that, SNES Mouse was emulated differently in 2019
luigiblood.bsky.social
It doesn't require the mouse though.

I mean... it's cute, it's pretty nicely animated to me. I'm happy to hear that Nintendo Pictures will do more stuff just please don't be stuck to Pikmin though I want more stuff
luigiblood.bsky.social
Nintendo confirmed it is indeed the first short film from Nintendo Pictures, and that they will do more videos in the future.
luigiblood.bsky.social
I believe it doesn't change anything but I might be wrong. Reaching the end of the game is already hard enough
luigiblood.bsky.social
Unfortunately the emulator does not contain names, I just know 3 game IDs on it force enabled the SNES Mouse, which we can confirm 2 of them were indeed Mario Paint and Mario & Wario, but the 3rd one is unknown. I suspect it is the unreleased but completed Sound Fantasy, but no idea.

Mario & Wario is out worldwide now :)
...now here's hoping the 3rd SNES mouse game they supported in the emulator eventually gets out there.
