Delighted with my second hand cookbook haul today from @kirkdalebooks.bsky.social 🇱🇧🇸🇾🧑‍🍳
The Lebanese one translated from Arabic and is a proper old school cookbook from the 60s!

I think the really elaborate ones are toys but I don't mind a little up/down menu to choose something!

I don't do front-end and that extends to TUIs, but I think they're so cool. Had a play with github.com/charmbracele... today using an agent's help. So much fun. It's so charming (🥁), and fun to play with, and it's gorgeous

Discovered github.com/nektos/act which runs GitHub actions locally in containers and dark magic. It just works! No more

Building release systems at a US company when your natively use UK spelling is a bit of a juggling act. I graciously use "artifact" in CLI commands and APIs but "artefact" in comments, docs and discussion 🫠📦

Okay I'm not going to post my Strava screenshot every time but I want to say I'm very happy that I went running again and didn't hurt myself and ran further and faster than before. Good news for me

Started using OCI referrers (opencontainers.org/posts/blog/2...) as a kind of poor-man's image discovery. CI just for build, test and push of artefacts. Anything that depends on these artefacts can be handled outside of CI. I think we took GitOps too literally and too far for too long

I let him think they were wizards but what I wanted to say was "no this is not Catholicism there is no magic happening here"

Day trip to St Albans today. First time, nice town. Visited the Cathedral. The eldest's first time in a church. There was a service on as we gawked. He said the beautiful singing made him feel sad and he wanted to be outside in nature. He thought the priests were wizards. That's my boy

Loving the new (ish) single from the upcoming Blut aus Nord album. It's like a mix of BM and New Wave, which tbh sounds terrible. But it's fantastic.
Never really got into this band so will be busy checking out their back catalog.

I use Gemini. Never heard of Jules and wouldn't have but for your post. As if navigating the AI hype space isn't hard enough without Google doing an own goal. I'm reading about Jules now thinking "wait they have this AND Gemini?" Sigh

Don't know 😭 it does sound like it. Although I like the song it isn't much of an evolution of their sound and their song writing as a band
