We've been quiet lately while we work on assessing what's safe for public communication where, working on ways to tighten up some security, and doing internal structuring work but the work continues as conditions deteriorate quickly!

Remember when sex workers' rights advocates begged people to start using the word "trafficking" properly because misuse would only lead to an ever expanding definition that would result in finding ways to criminalize people for non trafficking offenses?

Pepperidge farm remembers.
What in the country fried fuck is going on??

Annnnnd that’s why I sold all my Shopify stock today
Shopify is happily processing the sales for the Yeezy swastika shirt.

Tell me again why porn stars can't get sales processing but a Nazi can.

Its not just that the sex trafficking myths around the super bowl make life harder for sex workers, it's that the diversion of resources and media attention makes stories like this go under the radar for most people
In preparation for today’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, state police forced over 100 homeless men and women onto buses under threat of arrest, dumping them in an unheated warehouse. Tents destroyed, belongings lost. Press are barred from the warehouse.

The price tag for this cruelty? $17.5 million
Louisiana coerced unhoused people into an unheated warehouse – and paid $17.5m for it
Dozens of New Orleanians were bused to a site with insufficient heating and blankets days before the city is to host the Super Bowl

The ONE Project 2025 talking point Dems, and everyone else frankly, actively avoided talking about was the banning of “porn.”

Now y’all want to talk about it after the architect of P2025 is confirmed.

I hope y’all are happy.
We have been prioritizing this type of work to be as ready as possible for circumstances like this and we could have been so much more ready with more resources, but it isn't too late to support community based cash distribution systems heavily now!

Please consider this a key time to set up monthly donations if you don't already, our membership is 67% LGBTQIA, 79% PoC, 74% Chronically ill/Disabled, 62% houseless /housing instable, 45% parenting/caregiving members & it is made up of the exact people they are trying to cut off from resources.
So far, we've distributed 8000 in winter supplemental income payments to the ~200 general Lysistrata members since International Day to End Violence Against SWs and are in good shape to stay on our quarterly payment system for March, and we are already grant writing for the next cycle in the summer.

On top of this, we're 2 months behind on covering emergency fund amounts for Whose Corner Is It Anyway members while their own fundraising struggles in addition to the stacked up requests from the last couple of weeks requests haven't been processed.
If we wait until enough recurring donations to come through to reopen the fund it'll be at least another week or two, leaving us several more weeks that we won't be able to do referrals for street based @p.m.gran.te drop in recipients and we're also short to cover $20 stipends at tomorrow's drop in.
The only donations our fundraiser has recieved in the past two weeks have been the handful hustled in person at Pueblo Pride by the same member who does all of our volunteer admin in addition to the on the ground work here.
