swapped out the bearing, now much better

but where i had messed around with retraction setting some of my supports are not printing correct, but the surfaces are way better
#3dprint #ANET

so just discovered why my Anet A8 3d printer was producing rubbish prints all of a sudden

the X axis linear bearing had failed

so have replaced them and running a first print

seems better, no play in the hot end carriage now :)
don't you remember

"it all about the art of screwing up the deal"

and trump is a world class artist in that category
final print failed, looks like the temp was about 10deg C to hot as a lot of stringing, was a new reel of filament a brand i had used before so didn't do a temp test :(

will do a temp test tower in the morning then rerun print with lower temp
#Xiegu #x6100 #3dprint #openscad

so iteration 2 of the new fan cooled back plate for my Xiegu X6100

after a few adjustments with a hacksaw (length trimmed in openscad and a few other minor changes) now waiting for new reel of black filament from the man in the amazon van
as normal the child make aa on target comment and asks the obvious question :)
due to get damp and breezy here in JO01 thursday :(

i have taken my FT991a apart to clean and check the connectors , which is which the value of the X6100 :)

my day job used to be computer workshop engineer, so used to taking expensive kit apart

my 3d printer was a kit form Anet A8, took me 2 days to build :)

you learn more when you break things !
managed to detach the swollen battery from the back plate

they are attached with pads similar to 3m command strips

i used a plastic ruler to gently prise the battery up, then a blunt pair of fine nose pliers, grabbed the adhesive and noticed if i pulled gently it seemed to gradually release :)

mine actually replaces the rear panel with the batteries
plan is to attach a battery pack (OEM or custom) on the rear of the new rear panel

so mine directs cooling across the PA and ATU board of the X6100, as opposed to cooling the outside of the case but not clearing the heat inside the radio
#Xiegu #X6100 #battery #3dprint

failed LiPo battery in my X6100

only the battery over the PA Transistor affected

heat is the main issues with the X6100

my solution is design and print a new back with 2 x 12v 25mm fans cooling the radio

i will run from 12v PSU and later work on the battery pack
#OFCOM #licensing #RSGB #GB2RS

Ofcom has implemented most changes for Phases 2 and 3.

Ofcom’s licensing portal can process applications for new M8/M9 call signs, more flexible Special Event call signs, also easier revalidation. It starts the move to single call signs.

Intermediate M8 and M9 callsigns are now available on the Ofcom licensing site. For full details, see www.essexham.co.uk/intermediate...
i think if its the enforced move later, it was said the last 3 stay the same, so long as they are available for ease of admin
#ISS #SSTV #Series30

series 30 has been postponed due spacewalks

looking at mid November
at the same time i think the move to only holding 1 callsign (except for club / special event callsigns) comes into place as well

so i would lose my M7PGW and 2E0PWX calls, and remain with only my M0PWX
i though 2E0 / 2E1 can voluntarily move to M8/M9, but in another 18month'ish time they would be automatically re-assigned to M8/M9 and 2E0/2E1 revoked
2e0 > M8
2e1 > M9

last 3 letters stay the same
so 2E0ABC would become M8ABC
what do you use as a receiver? i have an RSP DX i bought for the purpose
ooOOoo where do you get that app?

is there a linux version?

Our sleepy editor made a mistake on one of the time conversions this morning. All the UTC times are correct.

The correction is that the Columbus Module radio is expected to return at 4:20 AM ET which is 08:20 UTC. A corrected version of the graphic is below.
QMX Nano?

when was that announced and shown?
does it still have the achilles heal of the BS170 PA?
far cheaper per kill than missiles, save the SAM missiles for kaliber cruise missiles etc
