Glad we're spotlighting "invisible visual effects." Directors constantly saying (lying) that all their movies are "for real" adds to the stigma that CGI and visual effects are cheap and lazy.

It's not just Star Wars, Avatar, and superhero films that need visual effects. It's EVERYTHING we watch.

One of the reasons I'd love to make movies is that one day I'll be asked to work on a visual effects heavy film.

When I was a kid I watched behind the scenes docs of Star Wars films, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Spider-Man 2 as often as the movies themselves. Visual effects are storytelling.
