This doc is about 6k right now and it’s a bunch of key emotional scenes related to the immediate aftermath. A lot of it is angsty. Much of it also is (or will be!) very very sweet. And a few things exist in a separate doc because I am Terminally Noodling with them.

My current writerly quest is also to notice more where I can delve into greater detail with emotions, sensations, evocative language, all of that good stuff. So paragraph 1 is greatly expanded this morning and paragraph 2 I’ll probably continue, but already existed and I am quite fond of.

As a hurt/comfort girlie everything about Trespasser is like catnip to me, but it’s also the beginning of one of my very favorite Cass/f!inquisitor fics, of which I have at least half a dozen. So I love to chew on how it would go for them in mine!

two consecutive paragraphs, too powerful for one snippet. will probably yap a little in the replies!

Cullen was right that it would likely be some time before she could see Evelyn, longer still before she was conscious. All of their things were laid out where they had been last night. How bizarre, to stand among the remnants of their daily routine, even one tinged with impending danger. Evelyn had complained of the pain in her arm before bed, so Cassandra had massaged it, prayed with her, held her until she fell asleep. A book of poetry still sat askew on Evelyn's side of the bed. Cassandra took it under her arm and from her own nightstand took an icon of Andraste and slipped it around her neck.

Thus armed, she returned to her vigil outside the room where the healers worked. True to his word, Cullen still sat there, his head bowed in prayer. Cassandra retook her place next to him. One of the wonderful things about Cullen was that he never spoke simply to fill silence. He understood perfectly what it was to need quiet company and no more. They sat and waited, and after a while Dorian came to sit and wait too, another silent presence propping Cassandra up when she wanted to curl into herself, or else break down the door. The only thing left to do was pray, and so she did.

this coming out day I am reminded that my lesbian awakening was bc my roommate was telling a funny story about a boundaries conversation with a former partner and until then it hadn't occurred to me that some people don't mind--even enjoy--the idea of sucking dick.* cue Several days of introspection
