Especially when I had 6 people to feed. My sister & BIL and out 2 dear friends/neighbors came for dinner. It really lifted Roberts spirits, he enjoyed the evening very much. Being with family & loved ones was “comforting” (as he told me). 🤗 yes, I love to cook. ♥️

Yes, that’s a sugar maple. 🍁 We all thought we were not going to have bright colors this yr. But, we’ve had both rain & chilly night temps which helped kick in the colors which are at peak here in Hermon. I had to tone down the color when I edited them.

Yes & no… I edit them in LR and I have created a few of my own presets for some situations. For these pics, I actually had to bring down the color some because even the raw photo was so vibrant. We are at peak color right now where we are here in Maine. I adjust light, clarity & shadows mostly.

It’s been a lovely few days having my sister & brother in law visiting. Especially during such a challenging time with my Robert’s biopsy. Results are still pending. But tonight, I made a comforting dinner: roasted tomato basil soup, flatbread pizza & salad. Recipe in alt text.

Ok, here’s the recipe.
NOTE: instead of cream, I use gold potatoes

Roasted Creamy Tomato Basil Soup
-3 gold potatoes
-2 beefsteak tomatoes
-5 Roma tomatoes
-1 pack sweet cherry tomatoes
-1 Videllia onion
-1 red pepper
-2 garlic

Rough cut all vegetables. Place on parchment paper sheet pan. Drizzle with/olive oil, salt, pepper, dried basil, Italian seasoning. Roast at 400 for 45 min or until tender. Then place all in stock pot with 1 carton chicken stock (or vegetable stock). Simmer for 20 min to blend flavors. With fire off, use emersion blender and blend until smooth. Add seasonings to taste. Garnish with Parmesan cheese.

Flatbread pizza

Ricotta cheese mixed with Bousin soft herbed cheese. Spread on flatbread. Add blueberries, cranberries, chopped pistachios, fresh thyme, drizzle with warm honey. Bake at 400 until crusty & bubbly.

I agree and I’m feeling exactly the same. It feels like our treasured existence & history is being disassembled brick by brick and it’s a devastating helpless gut punch. 😩💔😩💔😩💔😩💔

The destruction of the East Wing really bums me out in a way that I wasn't expecting.

I guess some of it is about the destruction of history. But I think it's mostly about the feeling of helplessness. There's nothing we can do to stop him.

Nobody is coming to save us. And it's going to get worse.

Good Morning Strong Friends
Last night was a sleepless one. Today is my husbands biopsy day. He has 2 tumors that have grown in size as we have waited for his scheduled appointment. All cancer is evil, Melanoma on top of remission from Multiple Myeloma is his current situation. Keeping it together.

I love dreary days just as much as cloudy or sunny days. You can photograph the exact same landscape on different days and it tells a completely different story. 😊
