Saw The Mummy in theaters last year for the 25th anniversary re-release and it is *shockingly* good. I genuinely could not believe how much better it is than I remembered. The CGI of Imhotep hasn't held up great but other than that it is a really, really fun time.

Just didn't find the central dilemma of House of Dynamite that compelling. Obviously you wait to figure out who nuked you before blindly retaliating! The consequences of getting a retaliatory strike against Russia and China wrong are so much worse than the risks of waiting and seeing.

The key difference between 1st and 2nd degree murder under Illinois law appears to be that for 2nd degree murder, the defendant unreasonably believes the killing to be justified. That seems very much like a law that exists to protect the cops.

The inciting incident in this movie - Tavington killing Benjamin Martin's son - is something our military, our media, and most Americans wouldn't bat an eye about if it happened today. "Fighting age male shot while attacking U.S. servicemembers in the field" wouldn't even get reported.

Trump's best issue is being only -3 on crime, and every single one of his policies is going to have the effect of massively driving up crime. He's making more and more people unemployed, while also making everything vastly more expensive, and antagonizing people through shows of force.
