That's the end of updates for Windows 10 but I'll plough on as long as I can.

I never trust brand new releases anyway, prone to gremlins and snags which gradually get ironed out over a few months.

I think I'm dangerously close to burning out a jigsaw - the power saw variety rather than the puzzle - before the job is complete. I'm erring on the side of caution and packing up for tonight.

As soon as the nighttime temperatures drop, the leaves start to change colour and then fall so some of the late mows can mainly be leaves rather than grass cuttings.

I find mowing therapeutic - which probably says a lot about me!

No. She was raised there from 18 months until her marriage by her maternal aunt at a house by the heath.

When she married, she moved to Manchester, where she had 3 houses, the last being EGH at 84, Plymouth Grove. M13. It's now run as a cultural attraction, open 3 days per week.

The days are mainly in the low to mid-teens now, but the nights are often in the mid to high single digits.

Grass grows at temperatures of 6 and above. I usually do the last mow around mid-November but it should start to slow down anytime now.

First cut can be late February, usually March.

In my absence, the grass @eilzabethgaskellsh.bsky.social has been happily growing until today. I thought it might have begun to slow down but no sign of that, took a load of cuttings off and now have a full green bin.

9-yr-old Ukrainian Sasha Paskal has won gold&bronze medals at the All-Ukrainian Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition "Black Sea Cup"

In the summer of 2022she was seriously injured by a Russian strike and underwent a leg amputation
