My research with B. Hearn & I. Filatotchev uncovers a key factor in stock returns: free float. Analyzing S&P 1500 stocks, we find that free float differences create a hedging factor that enhances CAPM alongside size. Read in Journal of Corporate Finance: bit.ly/4kp26qq. Dispersed ownership and asset pricing: An unpriced premium associated with free float
We explore differences in the levels of dispersed ownership that lead to a returns-based free float hedging factor in addition to size, which augments…

Nigel Farage, the "anti-establishment" guy who gets away with anything as he's protected by the British establishment.

Que no hay banderas palestinas, si las hubiera ya verías como el carapoller habría enviado ya no brigadas sino divisiones enteras de limpieza... a quitar la pintada, tampoco nos flipemos.

British media pumps out daily propaganda pieces for Farage, fails to offer *any scrutiny* and basically legitimises rampant racism, then puts on its ‘innocent face’ and clutches its pearls at the rise of the far right…
What a grim betrayal of our democracy.

Reform, with 0.7% of all MPs, featured in 25% of BBC's recent 10pm news bulletins
Astonishingly, a party with 18 times as many MPs as Reform has received one-third less coverage on BBC News at 10.

Do you have a source for this?

Kristallnacht was in 1938. The Reichtag was apparently (this is disputed) set alight in 1933 by a Dutch communist, hence the parallel with Donald's Trump radical keft killing Kirk.

marcgoergen.bsky.social
So, Charlie Kirk was killed by a gun-obsessed guy raised by Republican parents? How does that fit the narrative?

marcgoergen.bsky.social
Definitely radical left.

marcgoergen.bsky.social
And, this NYT article dates back to 2019! There is no radical left in the USA, but definitely a radical right.

marcgoergen.bsky.social
We can have a long debate about whether the Democratic Party is centre left or centre right. However, look how much farther to the right the Republican Party is compared to right-wing European parties. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

marcgoergen.bsky.social
Is there a left in the United States?

marcgoergen.bsky.social
We know that he is not part of the "radical left', as there is no left (radical or not) in the USA.

marcgoergen.bsky.social
Not just that, but there is supposed to be a radical left in the USA.
internethippo.bsky.social
The idea that there is a "Left" in American politics is an absurd right wing fantasy, which of course is politically useful to them, but unfortunately it's also useful to centrist media figures who need it to be true for their somber above-it-all commentary to make sense

Can you imagine that happening to Nigel Farage in the UK? Farage claims to be an anti-establishment guy, but has a good part of the British establishment protecting him.

marcgoergen.bsky.social
Will the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the resulting call for retribution be America's equivalent of the 1933 Reichtag's fire in Germany?

I've never understood
what is patriotic about
tax evasion by millionaires

"Farage says he stands for the working class — yet dodges scrutiny over his own tax dealings while criticising others for theirs."

marcgoergen.bsky.social
Is that really the right question?

marcgoergen.bsky.social
The shooter could be right wing for what we know.

marcgoergen.bsky.social
Who or what is the "radical left" in the United States? And, in what way are they radical? Asking a friend.

The rest of the world watches this soap opera of a country in shock and horror... I just can't understand how a country that was supposed to be the leader of the free world can crash and burn so quickly when one man is able to take to complete control.
