Over my last 7yrs in the classroom I wrote guided, student centric lessons for all of Alg2, PC & AB Calc

Nothing overly creative, pretty standard curriculum/concepts, but it got students to engage with the material & make connections without explicit teacher instruction

Dude started the season in *single* A
First MLB start was Sept 15
Not even two months in the big leagues and he's the first pitcher in history to strike out 12 with no walks in a world series game.
Pretty awesome.

My local Whole Foods has a sign "St Louis ribs on sale" above a cooler with a bunch of ribs.
A few of them are St Louis style, most are Spare Ribs.
I ask the butcher for clarity
Dude insisted that St Louis and Spare ribs are the same.

(For the record, they're not. STL are trimmed Spare)

Yeah, I go to a few Rockies games a year, bc it's a fun environment... but apparently I haven't paid attention to the actual game at all.

Rapids are our main jam.

(This is the second game I've watched this season... Not sure how many I've watched in the last few years. I live in Colorado for 10 years... The Rockies aren't worth watching)

This is my first week watching baseball this season

When the Dodgers pull pitcher Ohtani, then they lose batter Ohtani. Does he not play the field? Wouldn't they prefer to do a double switch?

Dodgers League the pitcher bats, right?

If he's pitching at the other league team, do they not use a DH?

I once saw an interesting derivation? proof? Of if we want the tangent line of a^x at X=1 to pass thru the origin then a=e and the derivative of e^x has to be e^x (or log base a of x at a? It was neat but I forget all the nuances)

20-some years ago my mom bought me a set of corelle dishes for my first apt

Today I hit up multiple Goodwills to get a mix-match collection of corelle plates for hosting.

Paper plates feel wasteful & the "nicer" semi-disposable plastic plates aren't dishwasher safe.

So here we are, full circle.

I do curriculum work now and still struggle with "standards" in general. Like each concept lives in a silo?
Like if a student gets a question or two correct on standard X in an "assessment" setting they've "mastered" it?
I don't have the answer, but share your hesitation

Trying to buy a shelving system but need to know the thickness of the horizontal beam, which isnt specified.
Chat support person tells me it's 4 or 5"
Online specs say shelf can be adjusted by 1 ½" increments.

I get CS is hard... but using bad AI to generate "answers" isn't the fix you think it is
