P2: APPEAR! Suddenly, a larger and far more crudely drawn version of my cartoon self appears on the right. He has a big doofy grin onhis face. Original cartoon me, in shock, says "GASP! W-who --WHAT-- are you?"

P3: Via an equally crudely drawn (and written) speech bubble and text, crude cartoon me says "I'm you when you stop giving a shite about drawing well"

It isn't just Lorre. Stars like Lon Chaney, Jimmy Durante, and Frank Sinatra appear ALOT in looney tunes. Mel Blanc was a professional radio impressionist. His work is a part of American cultural shorthand. Lorre looks/sounds weird and has become synonymous with horror so he's had more staying power

There's that anecdote made popular by a certain video essay where it says "the plot doesn't happen to Sonic, Sonic happens to the plot" but realistically speaking I can think of maybe 4 titles that actually happens in tops.

Most games it really is just Eggman up to no good and Sonic must stop him
