Helloooooo, new followers!

I suppose I should do an intro post.

I john. I comics. Also patreon.

4 panel comic

P1: A little one-eyed robot lies in a bed, tucked under a floral pattern quilt. Two scientists stand in the background, looking confused. The older one on the left, holding a tablet device in his left hand, says "I... I don't understand..."

P2: Close up on the scientists, as the older one says "I didn't program them to be capable of sleep, see?" as he hands the tablet over to the younger scientist. The latter looks down at the tablet with a look of bemusement, as he says "HUH. And they even..."

P3: The older interjects with "INDEED. I switched them on, and they immediately constructed a bed..." The younger guy raises the tablet for a closer look, with obvious shock on his face.

P4: Closeup on the robot, looking utterly snug and content. The older scientist finishes with "...then they just crawled right in. That was two weeks ago."

A four panel comic, with each panel being narrow, while filling the height of the page. Each panel shows a serene looking scene, with fluffy clouds filling the skies in each.

The first panel starts with a caption box which reads "This too--," while the fourth panel ends on "--shall pass." 16 panel comic, laid out --depending on how you look at it-- either on the outer or inner surface of a cube. I'm doing my best impression of Scott McCloud

A page from my comic "Land of NOJ," which was published in The Phoenix. Way too much to describe here. It's basically a kind of choose your own adventure comic, where the reader makes their way along either a red or blue path to try and make it to a good ending.

The setup is that a character called Suze is obsessed with games, so she uses a six-sided die to make a decision. The reader also requires a die to make their way through the comic.

Not sure! I might see if I can get through that section, and see how things go from there.

I already thought these looked like cool little guys before I saw what their name is
I think they're garlic grinders or something, but they affix to the table and you turn a handle to either rotate a drum in the front or grind whatever's in a sort of basin they've got - which means they all have wide bases, thin forward-leaning necks and robot heads with different kinds of mouth. The name for all of these is given as "SPONG"

Like, there are some games stuck on Switch that absolutely shouldn't be (the various excellent Sega Ages games, for example).

I've said it before and I'll say it again: emulation is so important for game preservation.

Shockingly (not really) Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster runs *mostly* fine. I notice despite the emulator saying the game is running at a constant 60fps, there's some weird slight stutters here and there.

So, yeah. I won't be playing Switch games on this thing, but it's great that it's even possible.
nellucnhoj.bsky.social
Really? That's a surprise, as the Switch version runs relatively buttery smooth.

Oh, to be able to play Dark Souls on a teeny tiny handheld.

Good news: Amazingly, the game does boot, and runs pretty decently during the story bits.

Bad news: The strategy sections are basically unplayable.

Still. It is incredibly impressive this even runs at all on such a low powered device. Future's going to be bright for Switch emulation on handheld.

One thing I'm enjoying quite a bit in my read of the first Malazan book are the range of great character names.

Tattersail
Hairlock
Whiskeyjack
Quick Ben

They all sound like fantasy themed GI Joe characters.

The trampoline bit, obviously, but Marge yelling "don't bring home any more old crutches" is just *mwah* perfection.

If I can run 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim, then I am in flavour town.

Well, I know what I'm trying tonight.

Reporting in because I got my Anbernic RG406H to play Switch games. Haven't tried anything more intensive than a visual novel but even without the power boost, results are so far outstanding.

Also, I just looked up a compatibility list, and am pleasantly surprised at the number of games that run perfectly.

Obviously, yeah, Breath of the Wild wouldn't work, but I never considered 2D stuff.

Also, good god that is one hell of a clickbait headline. They knew exactly what they were doing with that.

Whatever about me living in a country where "hell" isn't a swear, it's always sad seeing people enjoy violent media, but still be incapable of swearing.
