It's important to need to keep in mind that AI is literally making us dumber.

Overreliance on these tools to make decisions undermines our future ability to think critically and make decisions for ourselves effectively. We *need* to continue to exercise our minds in order to retain our humanity.

A couple of observations
1. "public coefficients" is ever so semantically different from "open source" (which implies explicit consent for conditional reuse)
2. I can't articulate why I'd use it vs. BPM which performed slightly better here dunksandthrees.com/blog/metric-... or rapm-derived stats.

Authentic Brands Group, of course.

There are conditional exceptions, of course. The real requirement is "consume the relevant material and its context". That might not be a whole work (for example, a book chapter might be sufficient rather than an entire book) but for papers it usually should be.

In general, you can't reasonably cite things you don't read.
arrianna-planey.bsky.social
People who say "you can't possibly read everything you cite" are saying a lot about themselves, IMO.

It doesn't have to be a heavy lift. I spend about half an hour a day processing new-to-me papers by organizing them in my reference managers & adding topical tags so I can create bibliographies.

Well you gotta choose something.

The real tell is that the system is apparently so trite they can't even make up a more compelling question with a plausible response.

None of these things even successfuly pretends to be useful.

To be fair...the answers aren't exactly *wrong*.

Just worthless.

The last straw for me was searching for my ticket for an "underground" tour and instead getting a bunch of emails about vinyl tubing all because London has a subway system.

Truly some spectacularly disingenuous doublespeak from "Best Beer" here.

Absolute dystopic AI assault on quality beverages.

Insisting that evaluators select sloppified funhouse-mirror perversions of their tasting notes in place of their honest and nuanced feedback.

What Happened When AI Came for Craft Beer
A prominent beer competition introduced an AI-judging tool without warning. The judges and some members of the wider brewing industry were pissed.

I found a 19th century Cat Villain!
A huge chonk of a fluffy cat sitting on a table near an open fire. The cat is cream and grey and appears to be shaped like a barrel in a fur coat. They are scowling fiercely with their moustache and bewhiskered ears apparently flowing back into the cold wind. There's a definite vibe that this villainous cat twirls their moustache as they evict orphans into the aforementioned blizzard and think Scrooge was an easy-going lightweight. They are magnificent.

I'm forever an advocate of the "hang them up and enjoy a long, hot shower" method.
mattsteg.bsky.social
To be fair even if it wasn't substantially true, you'd expect a non-answer hinting in that direction as s matter or course.
mattsteg.bsky.social
At least this *particular* example is part of a service and ecosystem that you can reasonably just opt out of and embrace functional alternatives.
mattsteg.bsky.social
They kind of already are

This is actually a useful example of something AI does well...and which *can* be done in secure, privacy-preserving ways (that big tech will never use)

And there are great, mature projects that work well (like immich, for example, which has great self-hosted face matching)
mattsteg.bsky.social
To be fair you only need to turn it off once, or even zero times if you just leave the platform completely.

(The most charitable explanation is that if you turn it on it needs to reprocess a bunch that costs microsoft money)

Thank you for your service.

Lists with this broad of context are always gonna be clickbait opinion at a fundamental level.

DPM isn't a player ranker, but rather a boxscore projection system to estimate expected player impact in context of role

There's always tension with guys in leading roles on hopeless teams and with vets who need to manage endurance

Also valuing top role players vs 2nd-tier centerpieces is always 🤷‍♂️

I’m skeptical of AI as a quality content generation machine, but if you’re going to write the same article with the same charts every year, GameHasChangedGPT might actually work for you.
