"The greatest danger to our future is apathy. ... What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." - Vale Jane Goodall (1934-2025).

In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked — what would we call it?

If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers — what would we say?

Authoritarianism — let’s not pretend it’s something else when it happens in our American cities.

I have so many wonderful memories with my mom listening to this album. Really Rosie is still in regular rotation at my house. Thanks for making such beautiful music!

Can confirm—this soup is delicious! We make this recipe a lot, usually subbing kale or spinach for the broccoli rabe.

My mind pictures the hero sando thrower as Tony Hale—kind of a Gary from Veep mixed with Buster from Arrested Development.

Seems like a Black Mirror episode waiting to happen.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see some “no class free pizza” content from Mamdani’s stellar team in the coming days. Today’s event was brilliant, start to finish.

A scavenger hunt that focuses on NYC history and utilizes public transportation is a crazy good idea.

On the left: Nate Cavanagh, a 28-year-old DOGE staffer and college dropout.

On the right: Mohammad Halimi, a 53-year-old exiled Afghan scholar.

This is the story of how DOGE targeted Halimi on social media.

Then the Taliban took his family. 🧵

"Among college graduates ages 22 to 27, computer science and computer engineering majors are facing some of the highest unemployment rates, 6.1% and 7.5% respectively ...

That is more than double the unemployment rate among recent biology and art history graduates, which is just 3%"

We hope to head back to New Orleans in the fall—we’ll check it out! Bayona is also wonderful. We had brunch at another Susan Spicer restaurant, Rosedale, about a year ago. Great food and vibe!

Haven’t heard of Theo’s—thanks for sharing! I’ll try it next time I’m in New Orleans. The Sculpture Garden in City Park is a lovely way to spend the morning. And Bar Tonique on Rampart is a great spot for an afternoon hang.

No better place to wander around than New Orleans. Enjoy taking it easy!
