* The innate value and dignity of persons can’t be stolen by any condition or circumstance. To care with compassion, we must first believe all people retain an incontrovertible identity.
* The beauty, vitality and relational energies inside the very one living with dementia can provide the inspiration for the care partner's journey.
* Life is about relationships. That doesn’t change if someone has dementia.
* I should love and honor persons in their current state, rather than holding them accountable to be what my ego needs them to be.
* Rich present moment experiences open the pages of a person’s narrative, bolster identity and bring a sense of continuity to existence.
* We must not take ourselves too seriously. Imagination, humor and play are important at any age. Lp
* It is essential to develop the practice of self-compassion.
* Culture change cannot occur unless the voices of those living with dementia are heard.
* Empathy is the game changer in creating a culture of compassion in dementia care.
* Reliance upon one’s faith and spirituality can provide a deeper meaning to the journey through dementia. for ‘everyone involved.
* Mindfulness is an important, practice to cultivate (for those living with dementia, care partners and healthcare providers).
* Meaningful relationships can be maintained with persons living with dementia even in late stages. Presence is the most important characteristic of these relationships.
* It is much better to be kind than right. When in doubt, default to kindness. ‘When not in doubt, default to kindness.
* There is no greater privilege than to help someone find his or her true voice, and no greater crime than to silence it.
* Showing others back to themselves may be the greatest gift we can give them.

My son is in games for the past I’d guess 20 years. His BA is in biz and marketing though, so he has pivoted to community management and marketing support for companies. He still is in the dev side but not sure what he does or how. LOL I’m old. LOL

I’m sorry Zandra. It’s been brutal out there. Covid basically retired me from a lifetime career as a graphic designer/illustrator, and artisan jeweler. After struggling for years I pretty much shut it down in January ‘25. Hard to get used to but I’m doin ok. Painting for myself more which I love!
