What this looks like with clients:
• Naming feelings: “Right now I feel…”
• Making clear requests: “I would like…”
• Setting limits: “No, not right now,” or “Yes, with this change…”
• Celebrating wins: “I did that. My body can do that.”

Real moment: sharing with my housekeeper that Dax is kept a little doped up because he’s super tressed with cognitive decline… and I notice overwhelm start to roll in. I stop and notice and let it pass rather than running with it, letting it grow. I’ve really gotten better at regulation. 💜
