I think it's rational to loathe technologies that aid in centralization and accumulation. It's like if you hated fascism and theocracy and people said, "You just hate all government."

Hey, free speech isn't shouting where the masked police are.
It's cold hard cash donated to a PAC.

It feels like Biff town
Like Biff bought up everything
And is taking up space in my life
My favorite spot on the couch
Sitting there
Won't wash his feet
Shoving fistfuls of Fiddle Faddle in his mouth
It falls everywhere
I have to work harder because he is there
I never said he could move in

it's only racial profiling if it comes from the racial profiling region of france. otherwise it's sparkling reasonable suspicion.

McLaughlin: "Pritzker said there's racial profiling, which is absolutely false. Our officials use reasonable suspicion. That's protected under the US Constitution 4th Amendment."

I try not to make generalizations, but I think PDX shows off why right-wing people don't do protest well. They lack creativity. They want to look tough. They think their fictional counterpart on "the left" is exactly the same. More lack of imagination.

Things are happening at Portland's ICE facility tonight.

Several years ago, I was surprised to find that most farms were owned by families. With that big ball of capital out there looking for deals, I think that's going to change.

I feel like a broken record, but I have to keep saying it over and over again: a farmer bailout won’t do much of anything because the market is gone. There will be no incentive to plant next year.

The bailout will help payoff farmer debt to the banks. That’s all.

"Investigators think that radioactive dust was released into the environment after PMT inadvertently smelted scrap metal containing cesium-137."

after the 10th radioactive shrimp recall in 7 weeks, i decided to do some digging

little did i know it would lead me to an underreported industrial accident that may have released an airborne plume of radioactive debris over swaths of indonesia

What Is Really Going on With All This Radioactive Shrimp? - Consumer Reports
Here’s the latest on how shrimp and spices got contaminated with cesium-137, how the FDA has responded, and why consumers should not panic.

I have decided that I was wrong in my opinion about something, and now it's time for everybody to let down their guard like I did. OK, enough about me, and ... oh, look, we're out of time

Mom always said the worst thing abut swearing is that yu are depriving yourself of saying what you really mean.

Makes sense. Personally, I dislike the idea, mostly because Gores is a lowest-common-denominator capitalist who makes money off prison phone concessions.

In 1904, Detroit voters had THREE DAYS to cast a ballot.

Also, the site went down more than 18 inches. It had a system of tunnels and footings and foundations. My grandpa worked there.

There are many reasons to scrutinize slang -- elusive meanings, linguistic duplication, meanings tied more to the speaker's identity than the idea or action described. But it is beautiful for poetry and can be very pithy in the right hands.

So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

Transportation policy IS development policy.

Who's the insurrectionist? Is it the guy pointing guns at everyday people and wrestling them onto the ground? Or the dancing frog? I'm so confused.

Actually, while we're at it, let's do a bigger war, either on the world or on ourselves. OR BOTH.
