It riles me to hear anTEEfa, as this pronunciation obscures the intentions of such activists which are to fight fascists.

It angers me that anti-antifascism is now government policy in some places.

Some years ago I helped out at a conference which Girard was supposed to attend. Thiel had promised to fly him over in his private jet. That plan fell through.
Instead the organiser received Girard’s keynote on an audio cassette (!) which he played from an old mono cassette player into the mic.

Congratulations to László Krasznahorkai. A frequently great, sometimes excellent novelist who is absolutely deserving of the award. His most recent translated novel isn't his best but that's par for the course for Nobel winners. In his best writing he deals with fears and terrors embedded in history

This makes me so angry. These people view all life as training for lifelong servitude/work. There's no room for interest, enjoyment, and culture in their bleak vision of education. At least she'll never be in power to see it through. Though Reform are probably worse.
