If my thought-dreams could be seen, they’d probably put my head in a guillotine.
That would be Nancy Mace. Something tells me the voters of SC will save her the trouble by not hiring her.
My reading life goes back before the digital age, and I can remember when so much more of what I knew was situated between the covers of a title and under the aegis of an author. It wasn't blind faith because it was IN A BOOK. It was more a matter, I guess, of provenance.
Sheesh, does this really need to be explicitly said?
This is a sound policy prescription. Still, many books--though not all--represent an extended meditation on or analysis of a complex issue or set of issues. Some works of fiction also provide extended narratives that engage uniquely with life's complexity. These should be sustained in curricula.
Irony meter is on the fritz...so I'm praying that this is baleful snarkasm.
Smart way to ensure your security in your hometown airport: publicly slam the people who are responsible for said security. When you get called out for it, double down--all the way down.

Dems give you Spanberger and Sherrill. MAGA/GOP gives you this loon and fellow Kook-Moms like Lauren Boebert.
"Targeted." That's a hot one.
“Conservatarianism” seems like a tell. As in, “I use this multisyllabic seeded with a familiar word so you know that I have evolved in wisdom and rugged individualism to the point where I can not-see Nazis when they’re goose stepping through my favorite think tanks. You should too.”
The morbid wealth is a global problem. Add to that, in Musk’s case, that he’s inside the security cordon, formally or just through criminally casual vetting procedures. He has access to so much data. This cannot be stressed enough. And most of it will be impossible to reclaim.
Morbid wealth is such a huge global problem. It’s a largely American export, and it’s amazing how different the world looks if you proceed from the assumption that it’s not a good thing on its face—and is toxic most of the time.
Imagine when there was widespread chewing tobacco.
Agree. I felt a little bad for the Blue Jays in the end. Just a little, though. Springer had it coming. But the Dodgers just kept pulling it out, and I never would have predicted Rojas would be the hero—in the field & at the plate—in the last two games.
Marge Schott woulda been so MAGA.
Did somebody say Vietnam? Mogadishu?
If a hit occurs in the hour after 2:00 am, it is officially dead because it has been launched into a series of moments that do not exist.
Hoffman got added to the Signal chat accidentally
But will she edit the interview to make him “look smarter.”
It’s also weird from the perspective of a nation that has experienced Vietnam and Mogadishu (to name just two bloody object lessons) in the last 50 years. Smooth Brain Nation.
Love that you did that, whoever you are.
Especially that one. If these were Yankee fans beamed into Toronto, there’d be booing and trash on the field.
