I read books and sometimes I even review them. I draw dumb stuff. I'm just a lil guy 🤷🏻‍♀️ https://www.redbubble.com/people/MilliebotDraws/shop https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile/milliebot_reads

This is a charming retelling of Sleeping Beauty, with an enjoyable twist.

Happy Rapture Day to all who celebrate 💋

Does anyone know the best viewing location for today’s rapture? I think I’m in the zone of totality but information was a little hard to pin down.
This one features so many voices, it's hard to pinpoint one, but I think what's toughest is knowing how used to the destruction, violence, & grief they've adjusted to because of the ongoing genocide. Def check out One Day We Will Always Have Been Against This by Omar El Akkad too.
5/5 ⭐
I don't know what I can say to convey the importance of this (very tough) read. I almost never refer to books as important, cuz wtf do I know? But this is it. Heartbreaking, still sometimes hopeful, & so very human. Please check it out.

Living in VT, I know we're suffering a big housing shortage too, so this is an important topic for me. Looking forward (in a grim way) to diving into this.

Happy Hobbit Day! Today's Classic Cover of the Day is The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, with a cover illustrated by Tolkien himself
4/5✨
This one is pretty heavy & brutal at times. It's more about the horrors of being an immigrant woman or outsider, though there's a touch of the paranormal. I want to check out her other collection though. CWs: rape/SA, child SA, animal death, DV

This cover art is 🤌 even if I wasn't wild about the actual book. I'm still on my journey to read all the Tanith I own though, and damn, my girl was a prolific writer. I def think I enjoy her scifi more, but I'm still having fun diving into everything.

I love a sweet little found family tale, esp one that centers around robots & Newitz delivers! Low stakes, chill, but still thoughtful (similarly vibed to Legends & Lattes), def worth a read! Also that cover 😍😍😍

Just read the latest Way of the Househusband and still working my way through Delicious in Dungeon.
[·_·[] Mangas still going strong (with more on my TBR), but also I'm just obsessed with reading right now. Can't believe I'm done with the Lonesome Dove quartet. What a ride.

there’s always a little too much chatter about what the Court will or won’t do. to someone who says they won’t overturn obergefell, i ask only this: what do you think the odds are, and how much are you willing to bet?
I urge everyone who is understandably disturbed by the petition news to consider how very unlikely it is for the Court to even take this up, much less reverse Obergefell. Unlike abortion, marriage opponents don’t have the same social movement that anti-abortion forces did, which was core to the GOP.
Obergefell v. Hodges made me believe in the whole "arc of history bends towards justice." In the 90s, I didn't think gay marriage would be legalized in my lifetime because homophobia was so deeply ingrained. We would have never gotten here without the decision and now it may be overturned.

Thanks to Candlewick/Holiday House for a copy of Island Storm in exchange for my review. This kids book has some lovely art and depicts what could happen before, during, & after a huge storm.

now it is important to remember that some people HIDE BEHIND gratitude in a bad way. the truth is sometimes you get in that wreck and it IS deadly, or you get sick and it DOES NOT get better. it helps nobody to ACT like there is no tragedy. there is. it is not WRONG to hurt and ache and be sad
