... but i have more fun not being "me", i have more fun with the kayfabe of it all, i have more fun with playing with other people where we all know that there's a person behind the mask and that they're trying to have fun too.

... buuuuuuuut, i have a lot more fun viewing vtubing as a means to create art and fun experiences for the audience and have more fun watching vtubers who endeavor to do the same.

i know people talk about moving away from the "idol" image of vtubing, and i definitely agree from a business point...

i just think that that's beautiful.
now granted, i acknowledge that not every vtuber views the medium the way i do. in fact, i would say that a good portion of vtubers just view it as a way to stream without using a live video feed. and that's valid ! i'm not saying others have to feel the same...

a lot of installations are meant to be touched, to be interacted with, to be changed and shaped and played with by their audience. installations invite the audience to participate in the art. in a sense, vtubing can be a digital form of that.

in some form, each one of us is our own art installation

I cannot cook without electricity, the remaining fridge food will go bad from the fridge being shut off, we have no heat. This is an emergency and we’re about to be out of food now it’s taking forever to just get help with this. Please reposting helps but I also need donations

i think a lot of my fixation on vtubing as an interactive artform is because, when i was still in high school, a lot of my art classes would talk about art installations and take fields trips out to galleries that were showcasing art installations, and i fell in love with the concept of them.
