I do a lot of life that way, now that I think about it.

So far I love it - great community (which will be helpful) and just generally I like the look and feel of it. I really want to learn all the details and dig into it, but it's helpful to have a user-friendly interface to start out with.

Welp, I made the boot USB thingie exactly according to instructions, but when I tell Matt's old computer to boot from the USB stick it just goes straight back to Windows, so I dunno. Chemo Thursday may not be the best day to fight with this.

So... the day has not arrived. I LIED.

I used to yearn to be a genius; now I'm glad I'm just a regular doofus who enjoys poor quality things. So much easier to stay above the waterline of mental health when a ton of stuff pleases you.

This also indicates the essential dishonesty of saying “it’s just a tool.” A hammer is a tool. Nobody writes about the “inevitability” of hammers. Nobody has ever studied the harmful effects of hammers on learning and concluded that teachers must all hit their students with hammers “responsibly.”

There are people on here I think I follow because we talk so much in my replies, or they're in my Discord or whatever. There are people I follow who sometimes reply to my comments even though they don't follow me. As long as we're talking, I don't much pay attention to who follows whom.
