I’m a fan! I do acknowledge, especially with my students, that it’s a dense read. I especially appreciate the depiction being in the mental state of someone who has experienced complex trauma their entire life. The end? Not my fav. It feels rushed compared to the rest - and what made my class go

We just finished Ceremony in Native American Lit. Do you bring in Paula Gunn Allen’s essay, Special Problems in Teaching Ceremony? It’s an interesting counterpoint to the book. Particularly from a fellow Laguna author.
