wild to me that Elegoo, Qidi, Creality etc havent enabled support for the box turtle yet.

instead of going through the effort of building an entire thing, capitalise on the success of an OS one, throw them some cash and get some good will in the community

i think the best middleground is the bondtech INDX system, where there are hotends and toolpaths to individual toolheads, but one heater, one cooling fan, one extruder etc. one of the importnat pricey things, and then the hotend itself is swapped.

however there may be hidden downsides to INDX

i dont think its insane to say that toolchangers are the future.

however i also dont think its insane to say that multiplexers will stay as the cheaper, easier option

i dont think we gave the phaetus Tai-Chi enough love/time to flesh out. only having to retract like30-50mm of filament, and puring a smidgen for 2 filaments, with how fast new extruders are, i think it'd be ninteresting to look at again
mobiledom.bsky.social
yeah i think after like 3-4 tools is when INDX gets more cost effective
mobiledom.bsky.social
what size V2.4 a 350?

and head stealthchanger might be neat, but im waiting to see what the commerical INDX ends up being

yeah K2 only for like a year, they do an upgrade kit for K1 series for machines for like £50, its... sometihng.

honestly, im choosing my mmu3 over this if i dont need the build volume
mobiledom.bsky.social
fuck me, can you tell the CFS was an afterthought for hte K1 series machines, my god

i feel bad for only being able to remember 5 numbers these days.

kids think this is some arcane magic, what the fuck

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

because these deals are as bullshit as the product they peddle

[death] Guppy passed away last night at around 11PM. They spent the day with family at their side, and the last thing we did before they drifted off to sleep was settle in for a big group hug and tell each other how much we love each other.

They were so, so loved.

i guess it depends on the cost difference, if you can build a 3x larger site to counteract the innefficies of the roundtrip efficiency for the last cost as the battery site, i think many would take it.

it also depends on how cheap and plentiful land is in the area, can the tanks be burried?
mobiledom.bsky.social
the benefit of this is we're *really* good at building insulated tanks, and cheaply, and with this setup scaling linearly, and this has superior long term energy storage (low self discharge for lack of a better term) i think it still has a shot, not in place of but in companion to batteries

If more EVs launched with messaging like this, instead of endless pandering about saving the environment or obliterating your internal organs with ever-faster acceleration times, I feel like the American EV market would be in a much better place today.

seems like a non-insignificant percentage of rage against the machine's fanbase are young republican men driving SUVs bopping their head to anti-oil, pro-immigrant songs thinking the lyrics are about how they wish their suburban parents would get off their back
Tom Morello tweets: "Fascinating that all those “don’t tread on me” posers and their AR-15’s are nowhere to be seen and government tyranny is instead being opposed by a guy in an inflatable frog suit."

Someone named Manny replies: "@grok
why do some people say Tom Morello and band mates are RAGE FOR THE MACHINE and not against ?"
