England nationalized rail passenger services lease carriages from rolling stock companies (ROSCOs).

87% of rolling stock controlled by 3 Luxembourg companies.

Paid £1.282bn dividends in last 3 yrs. Not taxed in UK.

Privatization has hollowed out the UK - Taxes lost, it is all about exploitation.
If the government wants economic growth it must bring essential industries into public ownership
Successive governments clobber households and small businesses by hiking interest rates to manage inflation, but don’t inconvenience corporations.

For the first time ever, London has met legal limits for nitrogen dioxide.

When I became Mayor, we were told it would take 193 years. We did it 184 years earlier than expected.

Cleaner air means a healthier city and big savings for the NHS.

We all know why Nigel Farage is accusing Labour of inciting violence against him while cutting his security. Because if he didn’t, people might remember to ask him who paid for his house in Clacton and why he hangs around with people who take bribes from Russians.

This is what Trumpism has wrought.

...) from 20 hours ago states: "I can’t believe I’m watching interviews of city mayors talking about how they are coordinating with other mayors to discuss how to protect their residents FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. I know we are 'used to it' but it is absolutely insane." The post includes a profile picture and a verification badge. The second post by George Conway (@...) from 11 hours ago is a quote of the first post, featuring emojis (fist, U.S. flag, fire) and a profile picture.

"Think about it. When was the last time you heard Nigel Farage say anything positive about Britain's future. He can't. He doesn't like Britain. Doesn't believe in Britain"

With a few honourable exceptions, the British news media is a far greater threat to our democracy than Farage himself. They are the enablers of fascism.

German media seems to be taking more seriously than ours the fact a leading light in the party UK press keeps saying will be next government took bribes from Russia to spout their lies. Maybe it’s because they put NEWS ahead of propaganda

Nigel Farage's attendance record as an MEP was 748 out of 751, yet he turned up to vote AGAINST plans to tackle Russian disinformation. Now one of his MEPs has admitted taking bribes to spread Russian propaganda. Why is this not all over the media?

So, Sunday Times runs with latest poll showing Farage winning if there was an election now. But makes NO mention of Reform’s collusion with Russia. And this is how democracy gets beaten to death in the dark. Voters are not being told the truth. Reform is given the stage but is NEVER held to account.

In total agreement. I'm in box 2.

There will be a 3rd group who might be ok with the idea but will be highly suspicious that the government will award contracts to private companies such as Palantir to do the delivery.

I have a feeling the digital ID stuff will burn Labour badly.

Logic:

1. A lot of people hate the idea.

2. A lot of people who don't hate the idea "in theory" will hate the specific way that Labour have chosen to frame it all about immigration.

That doesn't leave much potential for happy people.

Keir Starmer's aides are reportedly telling him not to go to the COP30 climate conference, because Reform would attack him for it.
Yes, they might.
And he should wear it as a badge of honour.
Standing up for humanity, for science and a habitable planet.
Where's the hazard in that?

But Reform UK want to get rid of regulators and cut govt spending ... leading to less investigation and enforcement ... more bribery and security threats.
