In the skies above a vast land, a pale pink house made of stone sits upon a grey cloud that rises out from its own chimney in a heart-shaped plume. The house has columns that prop up its berry-coloured roof, which has the symbol of a heart carved into the front of it. There are other clouds in the sky as well, but they are a lighter grey than the one the house sits on - resulting in the house and its cloud to stick out a little.

Far beneath the clouds, the land is green yet wild. There is a shore with silvery blue water, but one cannot tell just how far the land and water reach.

If one were to look very closely, they would see that parts of the land resemble craters. The mountains in the distance also, somehow, have been disturbed. One mountain has a hole right through it.

btw if you're so petrified of doing a bad job that you can't even start, then what you need isn't advice on how to make comics. you need to learn to embrace being messy and bad at things and being okay with that because it's necessary, and actually it's GOOD. being messy is WONDERFUL

Remember making art and expressing joy is a form of protest. They want you to be overwhelmed and lose sight of the beauty around you. They want to distract you and control your gaze to be locked in fear. Dare to look and gaze on the world around you with joy and wonder.

I'm sick of getting "one of the good ones" treatment at best. You should never tell someone others are right to be wary of you. I shouldn't have to walk on thin ice all the time for people who already decided not to accept me anyway.

I try to find spaces in the UK that are more left-wing, but then even there I see things like people saying nobody from the US should be allowed in the UK. Just straight-up xenophobia, assuming anyone from America is a far-right racist jerk.

Where I live, you can't even say something to a stranger (ex. ask a question) - they can clearly see you, but they say nothing. If you do (somehow) manage to make (what you think are) acquaintances, you're never "granted permission" to become friends. It's like the boat has left. It's bizarre.

Smartphones being banned in schools always makes me think about how it'll make it even harder for abused children to learn about their situations and break free. There's such an assumption that everything at home is fine for the child.
