This is why I wouldn't be opposed to a full on 3D remake of 1&2 combined into one game. Too many people just avoid them entirely - even though they are dirt cheap during steam sales - and they are missing out on such a magical game.

Even though I ADORE 1&2 as they are now.

I can attest to the fact that while everyone nowadays recommends starting with 8, almost no one really explains the entire concept of the series when recommending it. Even though I learned about 8&9 months before learning about the others, I wasn't fully compelled to buy any of them

For real! One of the biggest draws to the series for me when I was first researching it was the fact that all of the games are based on the centuries-old journals of one guy who travelled all around the world.

What other series does that? It's SO COOL!
