You really don't know how much you rely on your short term memory until you have to substitute for someone else's.

Mom lost her wallet 4 times today and we didn't even leave the house. I found it in the same place every time.

Hugs
My mom tells me the same story multiple times in a day, but forgets to tell me that she scheduled a lawn service or an outing with a friend.
Or better yet, she goes on a shopping spree on Amazon then calls to cancel her bank card because there are charges she doesn't remember making.

I'm sorry.
From this side of the problem I can see that it has to be scary.

Hey, that's the vacuum sealer we have.
Good choice

If you have a local butcher, you can sometimes get the "leavings" from hunters (the not choice bits) and ground venison works great for a lot of ground beef recipes. Also goat meat is pretty tasty.

Your definition of "good people" and mine are clearly quite different because I think you are already a "good people."

(Note: I don't think being a good person has anything to do with being a lawful or nice person)

Another #Baking day.
Today is cinnamon bread. Today, instead of just rolling the cinnamon into the middle of the loaves, I plaited them. They look pretty. Hopefully it got the cinnamon properly distributed.

My husband's CPAP helps me sleep - he used to snore so loud I couldn't sleep in the same room. So there is that.

This #Caturday it's my turn to guard daddy while he sleeps in very late. It's almost lunch time and he's still napping. It's almost like he's a #Cat

Just a reminder, the GOP are now the Guardians Of Pedophiles, and he's the biggest one they're protecting.

I'm so sorry for your loss. May the happy memories soon outshine the pain.

My favorite game is "dodge mom's feet"
I like to cut it as close as I can, but sometimes that means I get stepped on. More often in means mom trips a bit and then she calls out my name. I think it means she likes the game, too.

And Hashem said to Portland: "Say to the Posters: 'order your suits from Spirit Halloween, but do not order from Amazon, for it is cherem'."

And the frogs came up, along with wild beasts and sea creatures and birds of the air, and drove back a band of ICE agents.

And Hashem spoke to Portland: "Go to ICE and say, 'let the immigrants go that they may live in peace. If you refuse, then I will plague your facility with frogs'. It will go viral."

And the Frog came up and drove back a band of ICE agents. But ICE did not let the immigrants go.

Things are happening at Portland's ICE facility tonight.

I've been thinking about this a lot.
When we say "big tent" us rank and file types mean give us all the flavors, but the leadership seems to think it means be so bland you can't offend anyone.
I think about this in terms of chicken noodle soup.

this feels like the corollary to we need Mamdani in NYC and an oyster fisherman in Maine and a midwestern dad in Minnesota.

we're supposed to be the party that embraces the fact that we're a diverse and chaotic nation, stop test-polling yourself to generic national oatmeal!!!

It's interesting seeing the different ways resistance has formed in different cities. Los Angeles Organized, Chicago Radicalized, and Portland Got Weird as Fuck. All 3 have had success unifying their respective cities.

I guess my point is there are multiple paths to ungovernability.

The important take-away here is that there are many ways to fight for our democracy. The DNC had better learn that before they become irrelevant.
mreauow.bsky.social
It's the same with the protest tactics we're seeing all around the country. There's a reason the protests in Portland, LA, DC, and Chicago look so different and yet are all so successful. They're using the ingredients they have on hand (the people). They're all still protests.

As much fun as it is to watch Zohran Mamdami doing his campaign, he'd struggle to win the governor's race in Minnesota. Tim Walz wouldn't do much better if he were to run for Mayor of New York. That's not a dig against either one of them.
