Raw egg yolk isn’t for everyone, but it really adds a bit of oozy unctuousness. 53 out of 10, will make again.

The tuna rice bowl is the perfect thing to make alongside sushi - it uses up the little offcuts of fish, and if you cook some extra rice then all you need to do is a 10 minute marinade of sake, mirin, sesame oil and soy sauce heated up to burn off the booze and then cooled down, and you’re done.

Empty house calls for a luxury lunch of Zuke Maguro Don and some sushi for later. My fish cutting skills still leave a little to be desired but it tastes good.

A chopping board of sushi - a mix of small rolls with salmon and tuna, some roe, some nigiri and a bit of sashimi.

My gardener is called Big Steve but only because the first time I met him he was standing uphill of me and I mistook him for being much taller than his 5’7’’ stature which makes him not only not-big but also significantly shorter than Other Steve who is just called Other Steve. It’s absolute chaos.

After years of sneering at people running for fun I went for a run this morning and had fun so I guess that goes to show that if you sneer at other people enjoying themselves for long enough you too can have fun. Also, I ran 5k which I guess mean I’ve completed c25k now and need never run again? 🏃🏻‍♂️✅👍

DO I myself start using the word repeatedly? should I refuse steadfastly to use it even if the conversation provides the opportunity to do so?

Should I myself introduce a word I think might be new to them to assert the intellectual high ground, and if so what should that word be?

And that’s the story. I have been thinking about it for weeks now and the more time goes on the more I think the answer is ‘A’ and in turn I find myself wondering what my approach should be the next time we happen to be in the sauna at the same time…
