Yesterday the NHS 10 year plan was published.

Proposals to make healthcare local & preventative are welcome, as are plans to make eye care more accessible.

But it comes without a much needed social care plan & there is no distinct policy for people with learning disabilities, unlike past plans.
Grace speaking about eye care on behalf of Seeability at the learning together conference
Today I am speaking at the ortus nhs south London trust at the learning together event part learning disability week talking about my achievements
Has this government lost the plot why are they disabling people more how can they keep cutting access to work and pip do they really know what there doing do they realise they are disabling further from society instead of enabling us

As it takes on a bigger role over the NHS, we urge government to act on health inequalities experienced by people with learning disabilities, and not to forget the need for community based reforms for eye care – with special schools eye care ready to rollout after a decade of campaigning.

And today’s announcement must not delay reform of social care, which needs its own urgent plan - not least because of the crisis in funding which is set to worsen with the employer NI changes in April.
I can’t believe this government are going to abolish the nhs it’s going to create more health inequalities it’s worrying times

We should not be locked up we deserve a life to live independently and are human beings we are not aliens we need people to understand we can live independently with the right support a hospital is not a home how dare they lock us up where’s our human rights here come government time to take action
People with learning disabilities and autism cannot be left out of future NHS plans.

There are still more than 2000 people with learning disabilities and autism, like Kasibba, in hospitals when they could be living in the community with the right support. As a society, we have to do better.
