I rode that new B&O trail from Main Street in Speedway to Ronald Reagan Parkway in Avon

And I've NEVER seen that many Black, Latino, and Asian ppl on one trial in Indiana before

Despite the rumors the home is incredible shape. Great foundations, main roofs and 1st floor are intact

Despite headline in Mirror, Riverside residents are not split on saving it because MOST did not know it was in danger and not everyone who spoke about it were current residents.

The City of Indianapolis has owned the building since 1897 (according to records) and during WWII it was used to house US Navy personnel.

Blacks were employed at the Iron Skillet Restaurant there since 1957 and many Black orgs had highly publicized events there from the mid 1960s thru early 2000s

August Wacker is the father of Riverside. He not only owned and the developed the land, he brought electricity and the street car service who's routes Indygo STILL uses today

He also constructed some of the amazing pavilions in Riverside park that have unfortunately not been preserved.
