Watched this for only the second time last night and I clearly wasn't old enough to appreciate it 1st time. A great coming of age dark fantasy with a strong cast and wonderfully Autumnal atmosphere. Too bad Disney screwed around with it but still a fantastic watch.

Batman Returns (1992)

"Hiya Max, remember me? I'm Fred's hand!"

Penguin/Ozwald Cobblepot (Danny Devito) digs up dirt on Max Shreck's (Christopher Walken) underhanded dealings. One of these items is his former business partner Fred Atkin's hand and forearm. Max is a little dumbfounded at how all of this is coming back to haunt him. They are in Penguin's underground lair beneath the defunct Gotham Zoo.

Crimson Peak (2015)

A red clay stained ghost materializes through one of the upper floors of a gothic mansion and drags itself towards Edith (Mia Wasikowska). Edith is in a white nightgown and is holding a lit candelabra. There is an overly yappy nameless papillon sounding off down the hall behind her. The overall look of the scene is dark and foreboding. Eerie moonlight can be seen coming in through the windows.

It's good to know that little things still bring sparks of joy. A sea plane flew low over some high-rise buildings (this type of plane is an unusual sight in this region). The image sent me right back to when I was living in Vancouver and actually put a smile on my face.
